Oceanfront Lodging Overlooking Penobscot Bay in Rockport, Maine

If you're looking for small quaint motel on the water with an authentic Maine experience near Camden, we are it. Our motel is just one of only a few on a 70 mile stretch of highway traveling north from Portland, ME that is located on U.S. Route 1 and directly overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and Penobscot Bay, perhaps the most scenic body of water on the eastern seaboard.

Windjammers anchored in Glen CoveLiterally, set a top a ledge, our guests are delighted by the panorama offered from the motel’s commanding location. Here you'll see scores of islands, dozens of sailboats crusing the bay, and a quiet little protected cove filled with working lobster boats. Ospreys nest high in the trees along our shore, seagulls make the small island in front of our cove their home, deer browse our open fields, moose forage in the woods nearby, and harbor seals make their annual pilgrimage to our quiet little cove.

For over forty years, the Ledges has been welcoming guests, many who return each year to enjoy our spectacular and expansive views of Penobscot Bay and the surrounding islands. History, heritage and natural beauty bring vacationers to the special charms of our quaint motel every year. You'll be able to explore our 9 oceanfront acres and private shore frontage, accessible only to our guests. There is a Maine State picnic area right next door as well as a small public beach about 2000 feet from our property. Tall-masted schooners still ply the waters.

Ledges swimming poolHere, you will hear the rhythmic sound of the waves as they reach our shore, you will feel the cool sea breezes, and you will see the sun rise and set. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, classic Maine oceanfront lodging, or some rest and relaxation, our waterfront accommodations are designed to
make you relax around the scenic beauty of Penobscot Bay. Explore our rocky shoreline, listen to the waves, watch the sailboats and lobster boats and simply forget your cares!
